Flashback ten years ago, to gangly girls with long limbs and a huge desire to play volleyball. That is how I remember Mikal…or both of us, I should say! I didn’t think that time had flown by that fast until I saw that she was engaged! When she first got engaged, I obviously hoped she would ask me to shoot her wedding…and when everything ended up working out, I was SO excited that I could. I love that my job can bring me back together with friends from my past..and that I’m able to not only witness, but get to capture such important times for them. Anyways…more about Chad and Mikal. These two are ridiculously adorable…and so obviously in love that you can’t help but smile when you’re around them. I had just met Chad that day, right before this moment when he first saw her. He introduced himself with a smile on his face, like he already knew me. As soon as I saw his reaction to Mikal in her dress…I knew this wedding was going to be one for the books. So..I will start off this awesome wedding with one of my favorite first looks to DATE.
Seriously, so much excitement..and tears!
Ah and these details…were amazing.
Every table had a drink. Soda for the kids and Jack Daniels for the adults.
My favorite detail of the whole day. A FLOATING cake table with rubber duckies as cake toppers.
Time for just a few more photos before they tied the knot..Mikal and Chad were married at Dana Point Yacht Club and it was filled with so many awesome backdrops. It was the perfect place for I do!
When the girls went to touch up, I took the boys out on the boat.
Then it was time for the ceremony..and yes. I cried. Boats went by during their ceremony, only adding to the beauty of the Yacht Club.
How in love does she look!? Ah, Mikal you are gorgeous.
We snuck away for a few moments before they were first announced and I love the way their portraits turned out…these two knockouts seriously worked it.I mean, perfect. Then it was time for the first dance. It was so full of laughs, smiles, and tears. How cute is this? Mikal and Chad remembered the drinks that they were having the night they met…and drank the same ones the night they were married.
and then it was time to dance!
Chad and Mikal, thank you SO much for letting me be a part of your special day!! I wish you both a lifetime of happiness and I’m sure you will have it 🙂
