Christy and Thomas, Idyllwild CA

Ahh! I loved that I was able to shoot Christy and Thomas’s wedding. I have known Christy since I was just a wee one…and she has watched me grow from an annoying little girl, to a photographer..making it that much more special that she trusted me to shoot her wedding. I got SO excited when I saw that she was engaged and hoped that she would ask me to shoot her wedding and she did! I hadn’t met Thomas before the wedding day, but as soon as I saw how happy she was when she walked down the aisle, I knew he was the one for her. On a hot August Saturday in the desert, Trent and I made our way up the mountain to the beautiful mountain town of Idyllwild…where it was an amazing 20 degrees cooler. Christy and Thomas got married at a beautiful little church in town and had their reception at the Rainbow Inn. Take a look at the sneak peek  into Thomas and Christy’s wedding!

Right after the ceremony, we took some portraits in the middle of the forest where the light came in SO beautifully. I was in heaven. TREES!

I still smile when I see how happy they both were!

I also was lucky enough to know all of her bridesmaids, including her sister, who’s wedding I did last year!
They made ALL of their bouquets. How beautiful are they!?

Laughing and beautiful lighting seemed to be the theme of the photos!

Right when we thought we were done, Trent and I spotted an amazing little pocket of light…and had the two of them move into the middle of the forest…with her dress full of burrs, sticklers, and weeds, they both still made the best of it!! I’d say it was worth it….





It was then time for the very intimate reception, with touching tributes, hilarious speeches, and beautiful dances.

Smiles all around, that’s for sure! Congratulations Christy and Thomas! I am so happy I was able to capture your special day.
